was born in 1978 in Topolcany, Slovakia. In 2004, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VSVU) in Bratislava. Her international scholarships include FH-Dortmund, Germany; UfAK- Vienna, Austria and FAMU – Prague, Czech Republic. She exhibits her work in Slovakia, Austria, Germany, France and Poland. Jana lives and works in Bratislava.
Jana’s work consists of photography of human body and face, capturing the image and mood of the subject. Even in today’s world of digital photography, Jana favors pictures with grey shades, natural lighting and develops her photographs by hand. People in her works are captured in fragments and gestures. The human body with its subjective uniqueness, infinite feelings, shapes and forms is at the center of her work.
